Full Version: Marking in the house
dad2paisley
How do you break marking in the house? Our foster Etta did this last night as well as Lincoln.
Etta did it and then Lincoln did it saying this is my house.
If Lincoln continues to do this we have belly band for him.
Beryl
Etta could of done it as it was new enviorment to and was nervous. Play it by ear and see how it works out after she has been there for a while...

Don't feel alone please. That is the first thing Sid did and Burch went right behind him and peed again. emo-th_headbangwall.gif That is why I invested in the Spotbot! I can use the hose to suck up all the pee from the furniture and or carpet and then push another button to start cleaning the area with the hose or if it is a small enough round area I just set it down on top of it and push the button and it does it all by itself wink.gif

After the pee thing happened I took Sid outside and walked him on the leash since that is what he was use to doing. I did that for the first day or two. I also made sure he was in my eyesight at all times while he was out of the crate. It is easier on me cause I am home all day and I know you guys have to work. One of my iggie boys peed on the side of my couch. The boys are squirters emo-th_headbangwall.gif always have been , always will be no matter how hard I try. They too wear belly bands when I take the big pups for a walk. Anyways, Frankie peed and Sid started right behind him and I was sitting right here. I yelled and loudly clapped my hands and he stopped, shocked look on his face. The poor boy who is already scared and I yelled at him. Yes I felt bad and have tried not to do it again. I took him out asap and he peed. He is a bit of a squirter too so I really have to keep an eye on him. Yesterday, his 6th day here he finally went to the back door asking to go out emo-dace.gif emo-dace.gif emo-dace.gif
So after babbling for 5 minutes I guess what I am trying to say is I don't think she was marking it was just the new place, everything is so different and new at the same time so she peed. Now Lincoln I am sure he was marking his territory. Lincoln is still a pup, right? You know how to deal with your pup. No need for me to say a word, you know your pup best and what works.
Hollar if you two need an ear to bend.

Thanks Bobbi. We did take Etta out when she pee and where praising her when she went again outside. She is doing much better, she actually knows the door where all the pups go out. She went there tonight when we got home wanting to go out. She did great in her crate while we away at work. Lincoln is still a pup. biggrin.gif She is a great senior girl and doesn't act her age which is cool.
We'll keep you all updated.

Give it a few days and it should stop once she gets use to all the animal smells.
