I just finished listening to J.T., Justin Timberlake, "Rock Your Body", the dance version, you just want to get up and dance and Nelly Furtado, "Promiscuous", "Say It Right", and "All Things Come To An End". My guy and gal, they are the best!! Makes you want to go clubbing. emo-dance005.gif emo-dance005.gif emo-dace.gif emo-dace.gif Its time to dance!! emo-dace.gif

While at Starbucks, I picked up their Bob Marley Live CD. It's a great collection of early live versions of the Wailers classics. True, a couple of them sound this side of a garage band but that's ok. Bob Marley was a musical genius.

My second Gwen Stefani mix CD. I was a big fan of No Doubt and I also like her solo stuff too. Bought her last two CDs, "L.A.M.B." and "The Sweet Escape" and made a mix of the songs I liked best on both of them, also threw in stuff from the last No Doubt Cd, "Rock Steady". Great summer listening. We also got two more of her live in concert DVD's, and the "Harajuka Girls" one especially rocks. She is great in concert! She's always been one who's got really good stage presence plus she can actually SING. smile.gif And move. I love it when she does her little run-up-and-down back and forth on the stage, and her little signature "hop" that is a trademark of hers. She's so cute. She's such a tomboy at heart still, underneath that always-present red lipstick. laugh.gif

On the same note, this is really cool. It's long but worth it. It's a video mashup I came across last week on YouTube, while looking at Gwen Stefani music videos. If you're going to like "girly" music, she's one of the best.
It's a video "mashup" of Gwen Stefani/Madonna - What U Waitin' 4/Hung Up.

Really, really well edited. And of course I like the "Alice in Wonderland" references in the Stefani parts.

This would be a really good club/dance mix. biggrin.gif

I like Gwen Stefani's new song.

Which one? smile.gif "What You Waiting For" or "Wind It Up" or "The Sweet Escape" or Crash"...? I'm a huge fan of "What You Waiting For" although one of my friends doesn't like it because she says it's "loud". Then don't play it loud, silly! laugh.gif Actually I know what she meant by that. But I have trouble not getting up and dancing to a lot of Gwen Stefani's songs.

Today though I am listening to "Donovan's Greatest Hits"....

WHAT? I'm 48! I used to love Donovan. In the...uhm, '60's. laugh.gif I just got the hits CD, I gave away my Donovan vinyls years ago.

The song their playing now. Don't recall the title.

I went with the old stuff today. Janis Joplin and Cat Stevens. Is it OK to listen to him anymore since the govt decided he was a terrorist? Dang, I'll have to go dig out my Donavan . Last time my daughter and I did Mickey Arlo Guthrie was playing a concert. Its nice to have a daughter who knows about this stuff almost as good as I do. She doesn't sqwack when I put it in. As an adult shes a lot of fun when it comes to music and all we need is a bottle of Apple Wine and a little..... Good old times to remember. OMG I'm dating myself laugh.gif

DONOVAN! That's funny, I was about to say I recently bought the CD of Donovan's Greatest Hits and have been listening to that the past few days (and the Gwen Stefani mix CD I made). I had Donovan VINYLS so that tells you something! laugh.gif *gets out cane*

Also Cat Stevens; my favorite song of his is "If You Want To Sing Out" (from the soundtrack of "Harold and Maude"), and that's the song I always have playing on my MySpace page.

Amy Winehouse - Back To Black

She's really talented! She looks and acts crazier than a sh**house rat, laugh.gif and/but she's a great singer and songwriter. This particular CD is very very well-produced, and has that old-time Phil Spector sound to it. Very retro, and well done!
