This will be my third digital portrait marathon, my first ever was on GT, to benefit Hope For hounds, to help find a cure for Osteosarcoma in Greyhounds. The second was on Whippet Talk, to benefit WRAP (Whippet Rescue And Placement). If you want to get an idea of what I come up with, here are the ones I did for those marathons, starting with the first one, these are all on my website. Each one links to the next one. They all show the photos I worked from too.

These are all digital art, and the finished art is at 1200 dpi resolution. Can be any breed of dog or cat, or ferret etc (NO ARACHNIDS!) but the money will all go to Hope For Hounds, no matter what kind of fur kid you post. I'll paint any pet with eyes except spiders. No people either, sowwwwwy. Just the pets.

I send the final, compressed (Zip file) image via e-mail attachment to the people whose pets get chosen, after they've donated the money to the cause. If for whatever reason the file is too big to e-mail, I will snail-mail it on a CD.

This is how it works. You need to post a pic of your pet/s, anything you want me to paint for you, EXCEPT SPIDERS/arachnids, sorry.

By posting any pet pictures here IN THIS THREAD, you commit to a minimum donation of $20 (or as much more as you feel moved to donate! ) to Hope For Hounds if I pick your pet to do a digital portrait. There's no charge to submit your pet's photo, you are just committing to a minimum $20 donation if I do a portrait from your pet's photo for this marathon.

I'll be doing 5 portraits for this marathon. On Saturday the 19th of May, at 7 a.m. MY time (EST), I'll stop taking new submissions, and pick 5 randomly. I will begin the portraits starting on Saturday, May 19 at 8 a.m., and will finish them sometime that day.

You will be sending make your donation to me, via PayPal (using my artbybillie@yahoo.com e-mail address) or snail-mail it to me. If you need to snail-mail your donation to me send me a PM and I'll give you my address. After I get everyone's donations I will write a check for the total for all the donations myself and mail it to Hope For Hounds. This makes it easier for me to deduct it from my taxes, as a charitable contribution.

I will also announce the total earned when the marathon is over and I've received all the donations.

I'll e-mail you a digital portrait of your pet, so you will need to PM me your e-mail address if I do your pet. They will be rectangular in shape, proportioned like my 12" x 16" oils.

Also, I do ask that no one reproduce/use my portraits for anything other than printing them out to hang on your wall, or as your desktop image, or as an avatar for your personal use is fine of course! No printing production such as on shirts etc; as with my paintings that I sell, I reserve the reproduction copyrights, including the option to put any artwork I create, on items in my CafePress store.

As soon as I finish a portrait, I'll post it, until they're all done!

Start looking through your photos and feel free to start posting them! Make sure that the images you post here in the thread aren't huge....but if you DO have the original, large-size files of any images you post, and I choose your pet to paint, I'll be asking you to send me the bigger file to work from, if you have it.

I'll be starting work on the portraits on Saturday the 19th, at 8 a.m. EST.

Alright Billie, I'm gonna start this off. Notice there are NO spiders.

These are pictures of Jim. He was our third hound and he also had some really special talents. There wasn't anything that he wouldn't eat. He would stand in the kitchen while my daughter cooked. Nothing was ever thrown away. Carrot scrapings, cucumber skin, orange and apple slices, raw squash of all kinds, raw potato, pickles, etc. You get the point. He is the original discoverer of the "Magic Place on the Kitchen Floor". You know that place in the kitchen where food "magically" appears on the floor. Only for hounds, never for humans.
He was my "poodlehead" who came for a sleepover and never went home. He was 90 lbs of puppy sweetness and love. He left us for the bridge in August of 2003 at the age of 10. We miss him.

Today is Thursday and so far I only have submissions from three people, so I need two more before Saturday morning, to make the five total.
