Full Version: Kicking The Grass Up After Pooping.
Patricia
O.K., I don't know if this is a broodmom thing or not but every time Misty does #2, she tries to cover it up like my cat, by kicking up my neighbors grass. So far no one has caught us yet, I don't know how to break her of this habit, Trish told me that Etta does the same thing and she too is a broodmom. HELP!!

Sorry to break your theory but both my males do it if I let them (after #1&2). What I was told they are doing is marking ... they have scent glands in their pads would be like peeing on it. Mine also do this on our bed and the couch if the other dog has layed there. I just say "no" to mine and they stop, but otherwise not sure how to stop it.

when i worked at a kennel we would have to take the dogs out to a rock area to do there business before we could let them have playtime on the grass because if we didn't we would have no grass left because more than half would kick up grass!

She doesn't understand the word, NO. emo-happy024.gif Thanks for the information, I'll keep working on it.

Gee - that is part of Devon's post-pop celebration (and sometimes his post-pee celebration.) We're always happy for him when he kicks up grass then runs and runs and runs... I guess we'd better hope we're never hit by a bus cause his next owner might not think much of some of our dog's habits...

Banker has to roo or bark when he's doing is post-poop dance....sometimes Pipi does it, but she does a kind of bow down, take off stance also...

Ours don't do it that much. Yesterday, when I was walking Etta she did it. I miss her.
