Full Version: He Pulled His Feeding Tube Out!!
Patricia
My frisky Toby,he pulled out his feeding tube. I heard him rolling around on the floor in my bedroom, I just figured he was enjoying the warm sun, so I went into my room, the feeding tube was lying on the rug and he was under my bed, his tail gave away his hiding place, he has a long tail that didn't make it under the bed. laugh.gif So, I called my vet and she said, well he told you, he didn't want it any more. She said that as long as he is eating on his own and drinking water he should be o.k. which he is, his food was gone this morning. I should have known he was up to no good, he was so pleasant during his morning feeding, no growling, fighting, or biting, he was planning his way to get the tube out. laugh.gif laugh.gif. Oh, the tube may it so easy to get his medications in him, two are liquid and the Denosyl is a hard coated tablet, Toby is not an easy cat to pill, so since we have a morning appointment tomorrow, I let the girls, the vet techs, in the office pill him and I'll ask Dr. Meg if she can change it to a liquid, so it would be so hard. Keep your fingers crossed that he continues to eat. That naughty, tricky kitty of my, what a smart boy, My Toby, I love you so much!!

Kids will be kids if they have fur or no fur. One of my twin was in the hospital and had a NPO sign at the bottom of her bed (was about 15 months old at the time) she got the sign and hid it so that morning she was given breakfast. Mom and Dad arriived at the hospital for the kidney test and they did not do it as she had eaten. A wasted day had to re-order the test for the following day. Guess that hospital learned not to put NPO signs at the bottom of the kid's beds.

Glad Toby is feeling better. Have you wrapped him in a large bath towel to medicate him?
Patricia
Oh my, she took the sign down, that was something. Actually I have wrapped him in a towel in the past but the problem is that he is one large kitty, very long and at that time he was 18 pounds, which is not uncommon for his breed, his breed can get up to 25-30 pounds, the Maine Coons are one of the largest house cats. If I had someone to help me I could do it but since I live by myself, it is a little harder, but thanks for the great suggestion. emo-th_thanks.gif
