Yesterday (Saturday, October 19, 2007) , somewhere around 10am to noon,
an owner was traveling with her Greyhound through McCrady, North
Carolina in Wilkes County and ended up in a very serious car accident on HWY
18. She was traveling with her young red fawn female hound named
Charlene on their way to Fort Benning, Georgia. The owner of Charlene
ended up unconscious and the back window of her car got broke out.
Charlene got out through the broken back window. We do not know if Charlene
was injured in the wreck or not or which way she was headed when she got
loose because Charlene's owner was unconscious.

Charlene is a young red fawn female approximately 3 or 4 yrs of age
wearing a black collar with a black leash attached. If you need a pic
of Charlene, she is on the Greyhound Data base (www.greyhound-data.com)
under the race name of Nutty Charlene.

Star City Greyhound volunteers are about 3 to 4 hours from the site
of the crash and are asking for any and all help to find Charlene since
Charlene was adopted through their group.

The wreck happened about 3 miles south of the Fire Station on HWY 18
in McCrady, North Carolina. The address of the fire station is 11461
HWY 18, McCrady, North Carolina. Melissa at the fire station is going
out to look for Charlene and is asking for assistance from anyone who is
close by this area and is experienced with Greyhounds.

it would be greytly appreciated. If more info is needed, please contact

nearby the scene of the accident is ok. The more people looking for
Charlene the better since we do not know if she has been injured or not.
