Last night was our greyhound reunion at MidSouth Greyhound Adoption Option held at Southland Greyhound Park...we do this every year & usually over 200 dogs & their owners come for dinner, cocktails, prizes, raffles & a costume contest.
It was really special this week...Gogh will turn 5 this Tuesday.
A little background on my sweet baby. He came into the adoption kennel with 3 little brindle sisters. They were bought as a litter of puppies & went to the adoption kennel at 18 months. None of them were interested in racing. Gogh was so frightened, no one could put their hands on him. He has these huge brown eyes that look at you with pure fright.
Three years ago, his sister Passion was adopted by a nice lady from Minnesota who was passing through town. I adopted Gogh several months later & then Pleaser & Star were adopted about 6 months after that. Unfortunately we don't know who adopted Pleaser...but I'm friends with Star's mom & dad.
Well Passion's owner let me know that her birthday was coming up on October 16th. I was like, Uh no...their birthday is October 23rd. Well we got to looking at their ear tats & paperwork and THEY AREN'T EVEN RELATED! But here they were brought in as a litter & they look alot alike.
Anyway we've continued to let them be brother & sisters and last night was the first time in 3 yrs that they've been together! Here are some pictures from last nights birthday party at the reunion!
And I was so proud of Gogh, he was only afraid of real tall people!

Sounds like you all had a good time. What beautiful babies they all are, your little one has come a long way with a little patience and lots of love.

Well, like my parents always said, "Family has nothing to do with blood!" They can be brother and sister all they like. And it looks like everyone was having a wonderful time.

How awesome! It's really cool that you all have kept in touch. Gogh is quickly becoming one of my favorite hounds! You have to post more pictures of him!
