Full Version: I'm Planning A Trip.
Patricia
Oh do I need to get away and enjoy life and my money. I'm planning on going on a trip either this Spring or Summer to England. I've never been there and I would like to go, they have a great walking ghost tour. I think it would be fun and life has been so stressful lately, I'm ready for a nice vacation. I figure this Spring or Summer and Toby should be better, I've been to Spain, but I do want to go to England and maybe even Ireland if I can do it. Has anyone ever been to the U.K.? What was it like, and food, what kind of food do they eat?

It really depends on where you are going and how much time you have. My daughter was based at Lakenheath Airforce Base. I loved traveling the countryside seeing the old churches, castles and graveyards. London is wonderful for its museaums, historical stuff and of course a trip to Harrods. It also depends on whether or not you are going with a group or on your own.

Food? Its a bit different than home. I learned to love "pub grub" and all the usual British fare thats offered. Start checking in with the UK peeps for good descriptions of whats over there.

We took my daughters hound, Bo, with us most places in the countryside. They are very dog friendly over there and Bo was a good "pub dog"......She would sit quietly under the table in the pubs and know that snackage would be forthcoming shortly.

Do your homework on what you want to see and go from there. I would so love to go back but the opportunity just hasn't presented itself. Wish I were going too. Keep us informed of your plans

Thanks for the information. I might be going with my sister and we will see a travel agent. I would love to see the country side, the castles and of course London. I also want to take the Magical Mystery Tour Bus tour on The Beatles, I just love them and I think it would be neat to see their childhood homes, schools, clubs they play in, etc. Looking forward to starting my plans.

Sounds like fun.

My folks did Ireland and Scottland one year, and absolutely LOVED Scottland. Another year, my Dad did a walkabout in Wales, which he said was wonderful. Great people both places.
