I am completely mystified as to why this is causing such controversy. For that matter, any controversy around the religious movies and findings of recent years completely mystifies me. Unless the story directs hate and violence at a particular religion how could it possibly harm those who truly believe?

Because the church can't accept or doesn't want people to accept that Jesus was a mortal man. That a body did exist instead of going straight up to Heaven. Personally, I don't think anything of it. It may or may not be the Jesus of the Bible. But then again, I don't believe in the "historical" value of the Bible anyway.

Can a mortal man walk on water----JESUS stayed on earth 40 days after he arose from the dead and met with many people , I dont think Lasurus would call JESUS a mortal man.you do remember him.

If Jesus was not mortal, how could he have been born and how could he have been killed? He bled like a man. He felt pain. He took human form while on Earth. I don't take the Bible literally. It was written by Man and changed throughout time by those in power (aka King James version). Who know what the original Bible actually said. I bet it's a bit different. But wasn't the Bible written centuries after these things took place? Were they not stories (gospels) passed down for generations before someone compiled them all into one book?

ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS can be answered by the fact that GOD can do anything , he even knew you before you were born and he knows when you will die , even knows the no. of hairs on your head , there are writings thousands of years BC , THE DEAD SEA SCHROLS are near 2 th. years old , I have seen writings thousand's of years old but cant read them as they were in Arabec , Greek , Roman , Jewish all were translated into old english which is also hard to read , in 1610 it was translated again into more modern english by 60 scohlars just lately it was changed into more modern language , ----gotta go.

You asked how he could be born and died and suffered like a man , the answer is he is God and can do anything , The Holy Trinity--GOD the FATHER , THE Son and The Holy Spirit.
