Full Version: We Have A Date For Surgery.
Patricia
I'm happy but at the same time I am scared to death and very nervous. Dr. Sooy called me last night and he is really nice, down to earth and very upbeat about Toby. Toby is going to have surgery on Thursday, November 1st. He told me that he is not expecting any surprises and feels that he can take out the lesion with no problem. He did tell me that the ultrasound did not show that the cancer has spread and since he had a biopsy two weeks ago, if there was a problem the other doctor would have seen it and taken a biopsy. Toby is fighting me tooth and nail when it comes to his medications so that's o.k. he is a fighter which is good. He is eating, drinking and purring his heart out when he forgives me for forcing those medications down his throat. laugh.gif Please keep my little fellow in your thoughts and prayers, oh and Dr. Sooy told me that after this surgery, cats and dogs can continue to live a long and normal life. Thank you everyone.

Aw, poor Toby. I'm sure all will go well. I have 4 cats and giving them medication when necessary is the pits! No muzzle to grab and cats can hide where you'll never find them and still be in the house. I had to cancel a vet appointment once because Penny saw the cat carrier and hid and I just couldn't find her. No idea where she was but eventually she came out. The next day it was a two man operation. I held her and Tom got the cat carrier and we forced her in. I then called the vet's office and told them I was on my way - lol. What a pain in the butt!! I'm a little worried, Toby has not eaten much today, but, I think I know why. He is finishing up two liquid medications one is Flagyl and the other is Ursodiol, they are both very gritty, smelly medications, they are so powerful that they wiped off the numbers of the sygines and they have just a awful odor, they small just stays with you, so no wonder he doesn't feel like eating the smell is probably in his mouth and throat. I just spoke to my neighbor who is an oncology nurse and she told me that Flagyl leaves awful after taste in your mouth, she suggested since he has one or two more doses left of the liquid medications to hold off and see if he starts to eat more. So, I think tomorrow morning he will only get his liver pill. Poor little fellow. emo-sad011.gif
