Flu season is coming, but the disease may not be a health threat if you take steps to protect yourself. Getting a flu shot each fall, before the flu season hits, is especially important if you're in a high-risk group. People in this group includes:
Children ages 6 months to 59 months.
Pregnant women.
Adults 50 and older.
People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions, such as asthma, congestive heart failure, diabetes,or HIV.
People who live in a nursing home and other long-term care facilities.
