CLIO, Mich. (UPI) -- Organizers of the CandleLite Nite parade in Clio, Mich., have asked that participants in the holiday event keep their floats Santa-free.
The organizers said they only want one Santa -- the one officially sanctioned by the parade -- at the event, so as not to confuse children and force parents to answer tough questions about the multiple Fathers Christmas, the Flint (Mich.) Journal reported Wednesday.
"It's not that we don't want Santa, we just don't want a dozen Santas," said co-organizer Bernie Borden. "We've had that problem in the past."
Parade officials are also asking participants to refrain from throwing candy from their floats, for safety reasons.

We were told the same thing about the candy when we were doing parades with the greyhounds "NO THROWING OF CANDY". They just had the Celebration the Season Parade here and it was 20 degrees and there were quite a few greyhounds in it from our group. If I could walk the parade route I would not have my greys in a parade with that cold of a temperature and two of mine are not allowed to parade period - Softee has not been allowed to parade after a 4th. of July parade when I had to take her to the vet the next day and found out she was dehyrated along with Shadow and that was 5 years ago...

Can't confuse the kiddies about Santa I guess. I heard about the candy rule in my town too.
