I cut down our Christmas tree at a Tree Plantation in VA monday afternoon. I couldn't understand why this one was so heavy. Terri and I have been doing this since we moved to WV. (This is our 10th Christmas in WV)
While getting it off the top of the SUV, I let it roll onto my shoulder so I could carry it to the back door. Between the nylon my goosedown coat is made out of and the nylon webbing to hold the tree tight, and gloves on, this heavy tree started to slip and I couldn't hold on.
Well, the darn tree trunk came right down on my foot. Ooouchhhh! I had my Croc's on, so that didn't help.
It was so cold and windy when I cut the tree down, I didn't pay any attention to the size of the trunk. It is a lot bigger than any other tree we've gotten. No wonder it was so heavy.
Luckily I didn't break my foot, but I'm still hobbling.
Now the tree is up, and I'll put lights on it today, and Terri will decorate it tonight.
I hope the rest of the Holiday season will be pain free.
