Here are a few events that took place in history this week 12/18 - 12/24 Enjoy!

12/18/1856 - The 13th Amendment abolished slavery in the United States.

12/19/1843 - Charles Dickens' book "A Christmas Carol" is published.

12/20/1803 - The United States purchased the Louisiana Territory from France for $15 million.

12/21/1620 - The Pilgrims landed in Plymouth, Mass.

12/22/1956 - Colo, becomes the first gorilla born into captivity.

12/23/1986 - The aircraft Voyager completes its first round-the-world flight.

12/24/1923 - President Calvin Coolidge lights the first national Christmas tree.

I won't admit to remembering alot of this stuff. I do remember standing on the dock of the bay when one of the Pilgrims threw me the rope to tie up one of the boats. emo-hehe.gif
