I can't image what board admins would do that? Must be a control freak. I like this board, very open and not alot of rules.
When you have a smaller board where members really get to know each other and are more of a "community" it's not an issue because people respect each other. But some of the really large boards where more than 100 members are online at any given moment can be hectic. If you don't control certain aspects of the board, it can easily get out of hand quickly. Bandwith issues and people fighting, advertising issues, links to porn whippet sites.

We here don't have bandwith issues. IPBfree is unlimited! Advertising why not? Alot of boards offer affiliate sections. I am not going back to that board cause my sig got deleted again and it was smaller then some I see on there. Also it had no links or any text. It's just not right.

Wouldn't be a problem. I am a moderator on another forum and we have over 300 people on all the time,we have over 15,000 members, we have no sig rules, no advertising rules etc and the board has been up for 6yrs and we have had no problems. So, it can be done.

Right now I have no restrictions either. Unless your signature is 4 inches wide and 6 inches tall! But I don't mind either if people advertise their websites and boards on their signatures. I don't have any fear of competition. Heck, I'm putting up a section soon with links to other sighthound boards and websites anyway! I agree, it shouldn't be an issue. Did anyone tell you why your signature was removed? Or did they just zap it?

How rude. I usually send a PM and offer to make the signature compliant for them.
Just got a message like a pre made one. This was on all my posts as well. At least if you delete the sig, delete it all and not put that stupid message on so everyone can see.
