Full Version: GMGP's Memorial Bell Ceremony in Solvang
greyhoundstudies
"Greyhounds Make Great Pets" will be holding a Memorial Bell Ceremony for our beloved, departed greyhounds at Solvang Park in Solvang, California as a fundraiser for Dr. Guillermo Cuoto's canine cancer research at Ohio State University. The outdoor ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday February 8, 2008. The WCGG's Candle Light Memorial will also be held in conjunction with this ceremony.

Your greyhound's name can be added to the list of those remembered at the GMGP Bell Ceremony for a donation of $10.00 per greyhound. At the ceremony, you will receive an individual memorial certificate for each of your greyhounds. Those not attending Solvang who would like to include their greyhounds names, can add an additional $2.00 to obtain their certificate by mail.

If you would like to have your greyhound's name included in GMGP's Memorial Bell Ceremony, please go to the following links

The following individuals have requested to have their bridge greyhound's names added to the Bell Ceremony but I have not received any form of donation payment, nor do I have any contact info:

Deanne & Jon McKimmy

Mike & Laura Silvester

Don & Judy Smith

Abe Torkelton

Also, someone submitted a form with the following 6 greyhound names but with no contact info or payment:
Oshkosh Harmony, Razmataz, P's Cricket, Big Neck, Alota Pride & Oshkosh Hoss

If any of you are on this list or if anyone on this list knows these names and how to get in contact, please email me at greyhoundstudies@yahoo.com

For those still considering including their bridge greyhounds in the bell ceremony, please submit the information and donation payment no later than Janaury 31 to allow me to have all paperwork in order and all the bell memorial certificates written out.

Many thanks!

Greyhounds Make Great Pets, Inc. is pleased to announce that we will be sending a donation cheque in the amount of $660.00 to the OSU Greyhound Health & Wellness Program in memory of the greyhounds whose names were read during GMGP's Memorial Bell Ceremony in Solvang, California during the West Coast Greyhound Gathering weekend.

Steve Uyehara has graciously allowed us use of several of his beautiful photographs of the ceremony, which will be posted soon on the GMGP website.

Our thanks to all who helped make this a very moving part of the Solvang weekend and to those beloved greyhounds who will forever live in our hearts.
