Softee saw Dr. O'Leary today who is the senior/lead vet at Wexford Vetinary Hospital. He said she has a tumor on that toe and will remove it tomorrow and it might be a squamous cell carcinoma. He agreed with me that she did not need to have a biopsy and then the second surgery for the amputation and was with me 100% to do it all at one time. We have to have her there between 9 and 9:30 am and no food or water after midnight. Oh, that poor girl as she is a night feeder.

Thoughts and prayers to Softee and you this morning.

Just off the phone with the vet's office - she did good and is in recovery we can pick her up at 1:30 pm est. We will have to wait for the biopsy results to come back to see what it was.

I'm so happy to hear my little girlie is doing great!!

That is great news.

We brought Softee home about 2:30 pm and she is not limping as bad as she was before. She is not groggy from the anesthesia, allowed to eat and drink water in moderation so she is now mad at us as we had to pick up the water. She was drinking it like no tomorrow and we were afraind she would throw up but she is fine. He also removed a papiloma (sp?) from the heinie and he said it was deep. He is pretty sure it was not cancer and her half brother Highway had one in the same place and his was not cancer either. Now it is wait and see for the biopsy.

I'm so happy she is home and doing fine. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. to the both of you.

Thank you we are going to try and feed her about 7 pm if she eats okay if not we are not going to worry

Thats okay Hilda - she has a vet appointment in 2 weeks to get her sutures out and we should know about the biopsy in about 10 days.

So glad Softee is doing well and praying the biopsy is non cancerous. Poor baby.

Thank you Lorraine - she is doing greyt and ate tonight not a lot but enough to keep us happy. She is alert and is sleeping off and on and hopefully we will get a report back that it is not a cancer.

Softee is still doing greyt and ate Penske's breakfast this am so Dave had to give him Softee's along with some extra dry food. She did a sit down on the ice this am but is okay. Would not eat bread this am so that we could pill her guess she remembered from the last load of anitibiotics instead we gave her some liver brownies.
