We need some prayers here. I thought I would post this here. This is the group we help out and where we adopted Lincoln and Bear.

If you've got some extra good thoughts/prayers could you send them to 2 greys at the adoption kennel.

Wheatie was all set to go home but when he went in to the vets they found growths on his spleen and his liver and kidney values were off. So far he's had 2 surgeries. Haven't heard if the biopsy results are back. Last blood work had his values getting closer to normal. He will be staying at the kennel until he's healthy and then they will find him a home. If the results come back as cancer, he will live out his life at the kennel being spoiled rotten. On a good note, the family that was going to adopt him adopted his brother instead and are still interested in adopting Wheatie when(if) he can be adopted..

Nick was adopted out as a healthy retired stud dog in 2006. GAA got him back (not sure if it was a return or he was taken back) in horrible shape. He's 20 lbs under weight and a huge open sore on his leg that is obviously infected. The pictures I saw are not pretty. He sees the vet today (I think they just got him last night). He's 8 now. The group is pressing animal crulty charges on the "person" who adopted him. Creature is a better word.

So please send good thoughts for these 2 boys. From what I've heard on our group message board neither one has lost their spirit and are both just love bugs. Once we find out if Wheatie has any food restrictions where going to send them an order of doggie crack from Burpdog. They are working on fatting both up (Wheatie for a possible third surgery and Nick because he's so underweight.)

UPDATE

Nick's vet visit was pretty good. He's severally malnourished and that is the reason the leg isn't healing. There is no new skin growth. Once he gets weight back on him they will do surgery and open the wound up to cause it to start growing skin again and heal. His leg had been broke, looks like from being hit by a car) but it has healed and he can use his leg, just doesn't want to because of the sore and infection. So he's on antibiotics and getting 4 meals a day and A LOT of love from everyone that's at the kennel. Keep sending prayers for both boys. They both have long recoveries ahead of them.

Oh how horrible. I know that Lisa and Ira and Harry are fit to be tied. Shame on that person. If Nick was to much to handle or wasn't the right dog, that person should have returned him back to the kennel, Lisa and Ira would have understood. Sending prayers their way.

How horrible! It pained me to read about these sweet dogs. I'd go after that person who abused Nick and not relent no matter what. Thank goodness he at least came back. I will never understand some people.

Update News on Nick

He went to the vet today. He gained 1.5lbs and the vet was very happy. He is improving everyday.

Update on Wheatie

Wheatie is doing good. He is such a good boy.

(There is already someone interested in adopting him when he gets well.)
