Full Version: A unique Easter Egg Hunt
mountain4greys
SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV – Easter is only a week away, and there are many egg hunts in the area.

A unique Easter egg hunt was held at the Yankauer Nature Preserve in Shepherdstown. Members of the Potomac Audubon Society hid styrofoam eggs designed to look like real bird eggs. They also taught children about different types of birds and what it looks like when each egg hatches.

It was the first time for this type of egg hunt, and organizers said it was so successful. They will definitely do it again next year.

"We decided that it would be a way to educate them about what real bird eggs look like, and get them out in the woods because one of our focuses is to get kids of the house and into nature," said Ellen Murphy, Director of Children’s Program, Potomac Audubon Society.

The Potomac Audubon Society advises if you see wild bird eggs that are being laid this time of year, leave them alone and let nature take its course.
