Well she's home! She's tired & she looks like she fretted off about 5 lbs. She's so frail looking. Very weak in the hind legs, but by golly she was getting out of that car & if I wanted to sit in there & look pretty, I was doing it alone.
I got to the vet about 5:00, they said just keep her separate from the others, she's very weak in the hind legs...let her rest.
So I've got her in the vanity area, there's carpet in there....I didn't have to coax her, she went straight for her closet. So I put the baby gate across the opening, her food & some water...she's in there sleeping.
But as soon as she came in, here's where she went.

so glad she's home!! i'm sure you are also, and her too!

You always feel better when your furkids are home, so I know you're very happy about that. I hope she gets her strength back quickly.

I'm gonna have to put my "night guard" in...I'm gritting my teeth...tension. I know she's going to be fine...she just looks so frail.
But don't look at her food!!! She let Gogh know from inside the closet...DON'T LOOK AT MY FOOD!

I'm so very happy Snowy is home, to the both of you. How is she doing tnight?

I am so excited for her...she's doing pretty good tonight. I came home this afternoon & she was standing in her DRY crate waiting for me to let her out. Gogh kept her company all day I'm sure. She went outside, and pottied, then came inside, got a long drink & then went into the closet.
She's in there now, so I've got the baby gate up to keep her from trying to walk on the wood floors w/out some assistance. I got the day off tomorrow so I can stay home with her & then I'm off a 1/2 day Friday, then home all weekend. Here's some pictures I took today.

Here's Snowy in the closet...I have old clothes on the floor in the closet so that Snowy & Banker can scrunch them up to make beds.

Snowy Update:
She pooped!!!
Sorry, I had the camera out there, but well...it was kinda personal...but it warmed my heart...Pipi was standing on one side & Gabby was close by on the other. When Snowy went to stand up, upon finishing, she stumbled against Gabby, who stood stoicly & held her ground for Snowy to get her balance. It made my eyes water.
I did take some pictures of her outside...I'll post those in a minute.

Okay, I'm going to try that again.
Evidently Snowy doesn't know she's supposed to be resting. I went outside with the other 5 to take the screen door off the house, and take the broken St. Francis statue to the garbage. I went outside & left her inside but I could see her thru the door.
She stood there & watched the entire time....
Here she is this morning...

I have taken her collar off since then, she keeps mis-judging the entrance to her crate & I'm afraid she's going to get it caught...If she got out, I don't think she'd get far.

Sunday check in: She hasn't gotten up yet this morning, but yesterday she was up & moving around alot. She's learned she can use the door frames to lean on & look around the house to see if she wants to actually come in & join the fun. No fun, then its back to the closet for napping.
There's no denying this girl is a fighter. She's determined she's going to get somewhere. Last night she went outside to potty & lost her balance & fell into Gogh, I think it surprised him that the royal highness Mizz Snowy touched him & he just froze....she gathered her composure & off she came back into the house. I've always wondered why they were so eager to go out there to pee with her & stand close by...evidently its their calling to help her when she falls.
I keep reminding myself its only been a week...and to me she's doing very well. I haven't called & given any updates to my vet...he's busy with other patients & since she's doing so well, in April we'll surprise him when she comes in for her shots.

This just in:
I'm sitting here reading & I heard the closet door open...I knew she was up & about then. So I got up & there she was at the bedroom door, leaning. So I said Good morning precious, how are you today & she just sorta looked at me, no tail wagging. And she started toward the back door, walking so good. No stumbling or anything. I opened the back door & motioned for the other dogs to stay back. She walked on out there and now she's learned to walk & pee vs losing one's balance. The whole time I'm encouraging her & telling her what a good girl she is...standing close by...Pipi & Gabby.
So she then walks over to the swing & sniffs around (this was where BuyCut use to go to wipe his face after dinner), then takes a couple of steps & poops, turns to look for my approval & I clapped my hands, Good Girl Snowy!!!
That's when I noticed the sparkle in her eyes...she laid her ears back & sort of gave me a wag...like she was proud of herself also. When she started back for the house, there was a briskness, a perkiness in her walk almost like she was trying to trot. She's always had a funny side to side little trot.
She came past me & looked a little over her shoulder to make sure I was following. Then she made her way over to her spot in the kitchen & waited for her treat. By then everyone had crowded around her waiting also. I gave everyone a treat & then I fixed her a bowl of food. She's been hungry lately in the morning. I gated her off in the bedroom.
There was just something in her eyes that told me she's on her way back today.

I just love to hear the good news. I'm so glad she's coming around. She sounds like she's doing really good. Good girl Snowy!!!!!

Such good news! She's such a strong girl. It does sound like she's got her feet back under her and well on her way!

Is it a fawn thing or what?
I had church this morning, then my sisters were getting together for Easter. I left church at 12 noon, went to my sister Lynn's which is about a 30 minute drive.
We had a good time hiding eggs for the only grandchild...he's 5. We all left about 3 and I hurried home, knowing Snowy was gated off.
I got home, hurried in the house, opened the laundry room door that leads to the kitchen & the rest of the house & there...so happy to see mommy is Jack, Gabby, Pipi (first row) 2nd row is Banker & SNOWY!!! Wha!
I hear Gogh in the background barking pitifully...he's in a crate in the bedroom...you know where Snowy was gated off! On the carpet, so she wouldn't fall. WAS!!!
So I let them out, made sure she was going in the right direction, then went to let Gogh out of his crate & there laying, alone...pitifully....still tethered to the bungee cord was the "cat" gate. It has been shoved to the floor!
I let Gogh out & couldn't help but smile...Snowy is determined she is not going down w/out a fight.

This afternoon...looking for her treat! Hey...I went outside, I pottied, I pooped, I smelled the air & now I'm back in the house...show me the treat!!!

She is doing so good and so happy for you Hilda. She is a fighter and doG Bless Her.
