There is some more on GT but I think it is all in that link I posted. I know there is more information on a couple of other boards and if i find them will post them here. I hope other members will do the same
Gabby had her last seizure in January...and I think the one before that was in November. She seems to have hers when there is something stressful going on...like in November was when Snowy had her stroke...January was when Dear died. She had a seizure the day after Pegasus died & had a seizure when Jack & BuyCut tusselled & Jack's ear got bitten off.
Now she's on 400mg of phenobarbital & hasn't had any seizures since January.
Banker has these seizures about once a year where he appears to have lost his balance, I asked if it was that disease that escapes me for the moment & he said no, there's vomiting & other things that go with the disease...Banker's not on any meds since he only has them about once a year.
I've been told by 3 different vets that if they don't have them more than twice a week, they don't medicate them.
My friend Cynde, her dog Captain had a seizure, then didn't have anymore. He has his while he's asleep...or coming out of a sleep. Well about 6 months passed & suddenly he had 3 in one week...so now he's on phenobarbital.
I have Bella on my prayer list for no more seizures!!!

Belle's first seizure was a doozy and the young vet put her on phenobarital and then as she had not more said he was taking her off. I had read up on taking anyone off of phenobarbital cold turkey and freaked out on him. So he dropped her down to 325mg 2/day for a week. It was at least 11 months before her next one and 1 month 1 day for the third one.
