are you keeping Dozer on the same food he was eating?! Pumpkin is a great thing, also if you are switching foods what i have found that works good with fosters is just give them chicken and rice for about 2 days and then introduce them to the new food...

Chicken and rice but be careful about introducing the new food. If possible get some of his old food and mix in the new a little at a time until you get him completely on the new food. We did this with all of ours and no problem. Big D could also be from new things or stress related. wasn't he homed at one time and returned and now a new family. He will be okay with your TLC

Dozer is better , he ate the rice and chicken, turned his nose up at the pumpkin. But his tummy wasn't rumbly tonight.

Rosie was pouting this morning and wouldn't eat untill I gave her the same thing as Dozer then she licked the bowl clean. She has been my velcro girl since we got dozer, which is so not Rosie.

I am Tired ! The life and times of Dozer continued........

Glad Dozer is better - believe it or not the Senior Clown also turns her nose up at pumpkin. Chicken/rice has always worked wonders for us and we also use ground beef and rice and when I have left over turkey has done that also.
I will make the rice mix as a treat also

Dozers story......

We drove to Idaho , arrived at the kennel..
They really wanted us to look at a bounce 3 yrs white & fawn male Syd (the chubby one) for you that remember my dream, syd came out of the kennel took one look at My love & the 4 kids tucked his tail and ran out of the kennel area !

Next was Dozer he came out greeted me & Rosie , then My love & each one of the kids. But he was only 2yrs and I kinda wanted one at least 4 yrs old . So I kept looking in the cages with DH , But Dozer Kept Bulldozing between the dogs and us and then running to make sure the kids didn't get close to any other dogs.

So they put dozer back in his kennel (he looked so upset.) They brought out each of the other dogs and I kept looking at Dozers sad face.

Then she asked me to come out and look at syd she thought he might have just been up set because it was to confinded inside, So syd was really sweet to me and Rosie. Untill DH and the kids came out then he tucked tail and ran inside and hid in his kennel.

went inside and Dozer was wiggling so much, his kennel was rocking back and forth.

So thats how Dozer , Bulldozed his way into the family & how he got his name.

My handsome snugler Dozer has been home a week today ! He is learning the way of things quickly. (I'm such a proud Mom)
tonight he saw himself in the slider and set off the alarm (barking and jumping up and down) I let him out an he searched the whole yard looking for the intruder.

He has learned his name and no, he is learning to sit and wait.

He is a stuffy killer ! that really annoys Rosie . I have tons of pictures I will post soon.

Okay you do have one that sets off an alarm. We go through that with Belle and Koolaid. Koolaid still has a fit when she sees her image in the greyhound curio cabinet and we laugh and say vicious dog here. Even in the sliders they go bonkers and forget the mirror in the dresser they try to get to that dog

Dozer and I are Bonding ! yes its true were in love. I had to go out today and my daughter said he howled and growled at the door until he figured I was'nt coming right back. yes it give me an Awwwww and a warm fuzzy feeling.

Dozer has been with me 2weeks 5 days, He has fit in nicely . He is a mamas boy, and very food motivated. So he has been easy to train.
we have had no accidents in the house. (we won't count the garbage can diving)

He doesn't seem as huge anymore, I' ve gotten used to him blocking my view.

What a cutie pie! He is so handsome! I'm glad he found his way to you.

Mom Made me take a bath , She said I was turning yellow ! and then she accused me of peeing on myself !

I have had Dozer for 3weeks and 4 days ! During that time he has Bulldozed his way into my heart.
I have never had a velcro dog like him before , I can't go to the bathroom alone or anything else.
Walking is difficult because the big moose is always wrapped around my legs. He leans on me as I attempt to walk, so it feels like I'm walking in knee deep sand. pushing against him.

He can be sound asleep ,if I move he gets up to see if I'm going anywhere. Its getting so I'm afraid to get off the couch at times during the day so the poor baby won't interupt is nap !

In the mornings attempting to get the little ones ready for school and not fall over Dozer & Rosie and toss in the 3 youngest kids is getting really difficult !

I used the squirt bottle this morning ! yes I did !
I couldnt get the door open between the kids , Rosie an Dozer NO ONE WOULD MOVE ! SO I used the squirt bottle on fur kids and skin kids Both ! yep I got the door open.

How in the world do you do it with more then two hounds ?

Learn the word MOVE...I am amazed at how that one little word can part an ocean of greyhounds. Say it in a firm, but not hurtful way.
I told a friend of mine about it, now that's her primary word...he he he

yep MOVE is also a good word here and we use it a lot

....and you're not being ugly when you use it...they just see you walking toward them & think you're coming to hug them or give them something to eat....when you're moving toward them, say Move & they know then to get out of the way.

Wow I love Magic words ! We shall have to work on MOVE .

Dozer got over the big D when I fed him the rice and chicken , But alas he hasn't had a good solid poop yet. we are having poo that looks like cow pies so I stopped feeding him Kirklands chicken, Rice and veg's and started him on Purina one sensitive systems (salmon ) I know its not rated very high. He has been wormed so If by the end of this bag if no solid poo I will have to try something else.

i know alot of people who live by beet pulp to make good poops.. maybe you can try that?
