We have changed to Hills Science Diet Adult Small Bites since our other food went on the "no-no" list. I had to get the small bites because of our Italian Greyhound. Everybody seems to like it ok, as well.

Both my guys have various allergies and the only thing that doesn't upset one of them is Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish. They like it, aren't allergic to it ... but it is a bit expensive but they are well worth it.

Our pack gets Nutro Natural Chicken, Rice, and Oatmeal. I also cook up a batch of Chicken thighs, carrots, rice, pasta, green beans and peas. I was feeding Nutro Max but I was constantly having to add pumkin for loose stool. Since I switched to the Nutro Natural there is no need for pumkin or yogurt

I'm fond of the Natura Pet products -- Gryphon gets California Natural Lamb & Rice, and Josquin the cat gets Evo.

Mine are on Canine Caviar and so are the cats. I add Tripett Green Beef Tripe, Duck & Salmon on the weekends.
I've been thinking about switching to raw, but between the cost and the mess, I'm not sure I'm up for it.

i just switched Al to Nutro Lamb and Rice (Bobbi recommended it because Al constantly had the Big D - the extra expense is WELL worth it)
then i add the "goodies" - a mixture of rice, carrots, green beans, and chicken!
The kitties are on chicken soup for the cat lover's soul.

We have been feeding PetSmart's Authority and must agree with them as Softee has been on it for 9 years and Vet is please with her condition. We also use Nutro Dental as a treat (Please do not tell them it is dog food). When our precious Phawn was ill (Osteo) she had to have rimadyl after meals. She is now a Bridge Angel. The others saw it and wanted one too so we started giving me the Nutra Dental now they think its a good kid treat for eating their meals. We also add a heaping tablespoon of canned food to their dry along with a small amount of water (1 can lasts all day 2 meals x 6 furkids). We also use Science Diet canned for them when they are sick. Used to use Mixit but it is no longer made. We get the gourmet cans and put in the blender with water to get it to look like pudding and put over the food when ill to get them to eat does not always work but it usually does....

Pro Plan - Purina stayed clear of the recalls and if you collect the weight circles, they send your rescue group gift certificates for $75, $150, ... $500 to spend at your group's vet. The uppity pet food manufacturers don't do anything like that - so it's Purina for us!! (Well, that and WYSONG Archetype burgers when we can afford them... and I don't believe that any pet food manufacturer can top WYSONG for uppity, they've cornered the market - but the Archetype burgers are "to die for" or so the cats and hounds tell me.)

We loved the Pro Plan when we had 3 hounds, but our little girl Mardy developed an allergy to something in it, so that's when we switched to Nutro. We had over 100 weight circles when the group started collecting them.(Mostly from our Bridge dogs) Judi, you're right, the uppity companies don't have a neat plan like Pro Plan.
Edited cuz I don't know what I'm doin'.

We give Rosie Nutro Lamb and Rice plus lots of vegies. And her yogurt or else
we all have to leave the bedroom.

I use to buy Nutro Lamb and Rice and put warm tap water in it. But the like the Hills Science Diet Adult Small Bites much better. They like it without the warm water too. but I do cook up ground beef and wild rice and stir it in. They just LOVE that.

I just switched my crew over to Taste of the Wild for the winter. I wanted something with a little more protein and fat, but didn't like the results with EVO (coats started getting duller and rougher compared to the Canine Caviar). So far, I'm very happy with it, and the pups love it. They'll probably go back to the CC when summer hits.
I had the cats on EVO for a couple bags worth, but again, their coats started getting dull so I switched them back to Canine Caviar and they're soft again, and aren't horkin' up the hairballs anymore.

Seven of them are eating Pedigree for large breed, and Dear is eating canned foot with a few hot dogs thrown in. My vet wants to just get him fat for right now and then we'll put him on a special cancer diet. Hopefully we won't need to...we're gonna fight this thing.

We are mixing Evo, with Nutro Natural Balance, lamb and rice. I have been thinking about trying the Nutro Ultra.
