Nine years ago today I got a call that my application had been approved & I could come pick out my greyhound. 10 days before that I had just lost Sadie-Grey & my whole world just collapsed, you all know the feeling. I had delivered my application to MidSouth Greyhound Adoption Option the night before & gotten to meet alot of the doggies up for adoption. I had really wanted a red brindle like Sadie, but I think I would take anyone.
So I got off work at 11:00 on that Friday 4/21/99 and I went by & picked up my little dog Bones. We wanted to make sure whom ever came home was small dog safe.
As I walked through the kennel area, I noticed the only one awake was this tiny fawn female laying in the back of her crate. She was what they call a "true fawn". She had these huge huge brown eyes & they watched me walk from one end to the other....I was asking about each one...that's a male, that one's not ready, that one's real rowdy, that was isn't safe. I said Well which one is safe & which one is ready....and what about that one right there that keeps watching me?
So Sandy gets her out...Well she's ready to go, she's recovered from a broken hock...but she'll be okay. This is Snowy.
She came bounding up to me & nearly knocked me off my feet! Okay okay...you can go with me!
She walked in, pretended to know everything about living in a home & we've been together since. She's NEVER caused me any problems. I love her lots.
Here's some pictures of her over the years....9 of them to be exact.

And then one taken today
