Full Version: Time Checking In
mom2greys
We came home at lunch to let the greys out. When it was Time's turn he went out but as he walked by the grill a squirrel was coming out from under it. Time jumped the squirrel jumped and went back under the grill. When it was time for him to come in he was afraid to come on to the patio and he went the other direction. Bob had to go get hime and walk him in. After work he was still afraid to go out. emo-th_Laie_67.gif emo-th_Laie_67.gif

Poor Time! My Skyy is like that. He'll bark at stuff if it's far enough away, but let it get closer, and he runs away with tail tucked.

I'm sure Time will remember this for a while. emo-dogcookie.gif emo-dogcookie.gif

It is funny. emo-th_Laie_67.gif emo-th_Laie_67.gif emo-th_Laie_67.gif

emo-th_Laie_67.gif It sounds like a renegade squirrel, one of those that lives on the edge. If you look around, you'll probably see a little bitty harley sitting around there with no helmet attached. He's one of those that when its lightening everywhere, he'll cross the telephone wire just because its there.
Now he's gone back to his "people" and told them about the big bad black dog that's afraid of him...beware...there will be others just sitting on the fence so they can see the bad squirrel scare the big bad doggie. emo-hehe.gif

Well today at lunch we took him out and man did her start to shake, at first we thought OMG something is wrong with him. I walked out and he followed me into the yard, when he came back to the patio it started again, he kept looking at the grill and his nose was going crazy. I think his friend might have been back. After work it was not as bad but something by the grill has him spooked big time. I took the cover off to see if his friend was hiding under there but it wasn't. Time only shakes like that when he is near the grill.
Beryl
The poor baby - can you move the grill someplace else
mom2greys
We only have a small patio area so we can't really move it. I have taken the cover off of it to see if that will help. I'm also taking treats out and sitting next to the grill and when he comes close will give him treats. I just don't understan why all of a sudden he is afarid of it, I could see it after the first time but it has been a week and he didn't care now all of a sudden this.

My vet told me that they remember things. I asked her to check Penske's ears as every so ofter when I am petting him he yelps she said there is nothing wrong with them. He has a small nip where a piece of his ear is missing and she said this is probably why he does that yelp he remembers the ear being injured.

I agree, things that happen to them that are frightening especially.
When I had knee replacement, my doggie sitters would let them in thru the garage door, let them run around inside there & then let them in the house & this was especially if it was raining...it dried their feets off.
Well a year & half later, Snowy still looks at the laudry room hallway thinking she's supposed to go outside that way.
I think uncovering the grill is a great idea.
