I'm getting ready to order new tags for my hounds. I'm getting Boomerang Collar tags. Tip has so many tags jingling around his neck, it's ridiculous, and Chloe's tags came off one day at the dog park - haven't seen 'em since. Anyway, what info to do you keep on your hounds? We don't have to have rabies tags on our dogs, just proof of vaccination in our records, and we don't have to license our dogs, so aside from those things, what info should I include?

I do not put my dog's name on their tags. The have city license, rabies and my phone number. A couple have their adoptive group tag and Hershey also has her chip information. I don't believe in my dog's names on their tags incase they are stole/lost and the person who has them can say thats my dog's name. I have on file with vet and license bureau their ear tag information and Hershey's chip info

I think its all personal opinion! Al is covered in ID's!!
first off he is microchipped, so he has his plastic lil' Avid ID
then he has one with His name, my phone number and Concord NC
then he has his adoption group ID tag
and finally his rabies tag
i know that's ALOT but i look at it this way.. if he gets found and i am not answering my phone someone knows he is microchipped and if its a shelter or something they can scan him and find my dad... or if its another greyhound person they can contact Project Racing Home and then his rabies cuz well just cuz its his rabies tag! (my cats wear rabies and phone number, they are indoor only cats but better safe than sorry)
and i don't mind the jingle of the tags at all...

Even thought you are supposed to license here at the age of 3 months too many people do not do it

Ok, so maybe our name, phone, cell, and chip number would be good. Tip could also wear his OGA tag. That way, if they get lost, we can almost always be reached. With the chip number, AVID or HomeAgain knows to contact us, the rescue group I volunteer for (where Chloe & Diego came from), or our vet.
Thanks gang!

All of dogs have tags with their name and our cell phone #'s on it as well as our address. Also, they have their county and rabbies tags on.

I had thought about doing the double sided, but I didn't want a hanging tag, so I'm going with this:
Collar Tag
I can fit enough info on it, and change it out on different tag collars if I want. If I wanted to add more info than space is available, I can just get another tag. No more clinking, and no more worrying about pups losing their tags while playing, which already happened with all Chloe's tags.
