When we adopted our first Grey in 1995 we were told the following:

1) They don't bark
2) Greyhounds do not shed
3) They might be watch but not guard dogs
4) They have to have soft bedding
5) Need to wear a coat on them in the winter because of thin skin, no body fat and very little fur

1) All but one bark their fool head off
2) What is that I find all over the house, on furniture and my clothes
3) Why did Belle have that young man against the wall if she is not a guard dog or why did my first one Shadow protect my grandson Ricky
4) Why does Koolaid lay out in the dirt/mud and Penske on the bare floor
5) My Bridge Angel Phawn would not wear a coat and if I put one on her she would try and rub it off.

We decided that they did not read Greyhound 101 or flunked that course

What part of Greyhound 101 did yours flunk???

Greyhounds don't Bark ! yeah right Dozer does alot of loud nonbarking .

Liz are you saying that Dozer flunked a few chapters in Greyhound 101?

I'm saying Dozer could write a new version !

Time barks, all three shed, all three will lay on the hard floor and Time hates a coat.

Al pretty much fits the bill..

he doesn't bark, he sheds but not bad.. i mean he does have fur so he sheds some, he doesn't mind his coat, he is NOT a guard dog, Al has to have soft bedding just cuz he's spoiled

All mine have flunked. They'd rather not wear the coats we have for them. I wish they would have told us that before we bought them.

They (except for Holly) will bark at some aspect of life every day.

Ask our vacuum cleaner about the non-sheding hair it picks up all the time.

None of them have a hard time sleeping on the floor, while their beds are empty.

It seems as if only Al so far has passed Greyhound 101
