The presidents in Group A had previously served as vice president. Respectively, the presidents in Group A were the vice presidents for: George Washington, John Adams, Andrew Jackson, Ronald Reagan. Richard Nixon, who served as vice president for Dwight Eisenhower, can be added to Group A
