HA! Open the crate door & you were looking at the biggest puppy you'd ever seen. Gentle, loving, afraid...shut the door again & make sure your fingers were in the wholes! Open it & there he was ready to be loved.
A sweet girl offered to adopt him, take him home & work with him on space issues. She only kept him 2 weeks before she tearfully brought him back, her neighgor was physically threatening her! That's when I stepped in & took him home with me.
Two years ago when Pegasus suddenly passed away, Jack took over as my nightly hug! He & Dear would come in the bathroom at night & we'd do a 3 way hug! I swear I think I could've gone to sleep just hugging them. He became buddies with Dear & when Dear passed away in January this year, he took over the entire job of making sure the momma got hugs.
When I come home after work, he's one of the first ones at the door, bouncing the whole time. I can come home, leave to go get something out of the car & come back & he's still bouncing...the momma is home!
He just recently took up getting on the bed & snuggling with me at night...he'll sleep as close as he can when he does...except when Gabby gets up there & she'll sit on him to get between us.
Jack recently had a seizure, but luckily we found nothing wrong. I've been keeping a close eye on him & he's doing fine...I thank all of ya'll for those prayers.
So today...even in this time of mourning for my beloved Snowy...we will celebrate Jack's 8th birthday! In fact, he's eating an apple he got from outside....we'll light a candle in memory of Snowy, then we'll sing happy birthday.
Here's one of the first pictures I took of Jack when he came home with me.

When he came home, he had on a red plastic racing collar....and this was his first official "I'm adopted" collar.
This picture is one of my favorites, it showed me how relaxed he felt....

This boy loves toys, pillows, couch cushions! He gets so excited at feeding time...so he goes in the den & tosses things around the room!

When I got laminate floors, this boy was & still is, so afraid of them. We were still working on the floors, so I put down little pieces of carpet for them to walk on until they got used to it. Ha ha ha....that's Pegasus in the chair! Look how curled up Jack is.

Momma's Happy Jack!

I gotta stop by more often.
