OK what about your Soul

My What? My Soul? Do I have a soul? When you die, if you have a soul, is that all thats left? If I have a soul, can it move into someone else? Does this soul have a memory? What is a soul? Not mocking at all here. These are the questions that I think about when the word soul is mentioned. My own personal opinion is that a soul is in the same realm as something that must be taken on faith. Faith being the belief in something that cannot be seen, touched or heard yet knowing within oneself that it exists. I'm not sure that faith is all its cracked up to be but that is for another discussion when my brain is not so tired...
Touchy personal topic here.

Well if you dont believe in GOD than you cant believe in having a sole , because it is a gift from god that you got at conception. because of this you cannot die and come back as say a frog because you have a sole that will live for eternity and you have a choice as to where you will live.

Who says so? God? Isn't God something/someone that you have to have "Faith" to believe in? Theres that word Faith again...
Oddly enough, I've never really worried about whether or not God exists. I try to live my life with kindness, compassion and consideration for my fellow human and animal counterparts. I figure that if there IS an afterlife, I'll know it when/if I get there.
Prove the existence of a soul. Prove to me that God exists.
Not just because someone says it does.

Prove that there is a GOD , well tonight look up into the heavens and marvel at the sight of billions of stars up to trillions of light years away , if that dose,nt do anything for you hold your new born baby for the first time , or consider your eyes --if all the computers in the world were tied together they could not keep up with what the human eye can do.

That would only lead to a discussion of monumental proportions in the evolution vs creation theme. Will not redo the Scopes Trial. I think that the world is a wonderous place, full of beauty, grandeur and an absolutely unlimited range of thing that cause me to be struck dumb! I ask again, prove to me that a God made it! Or did it all evolve over the last bazillion years.
I think, here again, that those who believe in a higher power/being have to take that leap of 'Faith". Theres that pesky word again. To try and analyze this subject you must analyze your own feelings and beliefs. Everyones concept is a little bit different.
Heres a question? Why should one religion be the only correct religion in the eyes of its followers. Why is their way the ONLY way to salvation? Aren't most religions founded on a belief system. If so, why aren't all religions equal? Once again, belief=faith=?

Love your post rycezmom. I do not believe that there is only one true religion. I can go to any church and pray and I do not care what religion it is. What is the oldest known religion so if you say there is only one true religion then it has to be the oldest known religion

Interesting question/statement Beryl!
Would that we could go back to the beginning of time. To a time when the first "humans" became aware of the world around themselves and discovered the mysteries of nature and the effects it had on them. The ability to form the abstract idea that there were things within their world that they could not control, but that those things controlled them....Yet they could not explain those things. They formed a belief to justify its effect on themselves. Thank goodness they don't throw virgins in the volcanos anymore!
Does that make fire the first God? Or the Druids in their reverence for various aspects of the natural world, made natures realm their Gods.
These thoughts and questions lead to the next question and the next.....

So explain to me what is a Christian? I was taught that a Christian is one who believes in God and follows the Ten Comandments. What is your explaination of a Christian Saved2? You also did not answer me "What is the True Religion?"

this is why i have a hard time with these discussions and generally stay out of them.. i can't PROVE to anyone that God exsists.. i could quote the bible, but if you don't believe then its still not proof, its just words so that doesn't help!
so there's nothing anyone can say to give you PROOF! and i'm not going to try to prove it to yah! i'm not one of those that sits and trys to preach to people, i actually don't even attend church anymore, reason being because these so called "christians" love to judge, on what people wear, tattoos, piercings, etc.. i'm sorry that's not the christian way! do i sin? yes of course i do, everyday, and i ask God for his forgiveness!
being a christian is a big part in my life, its faith! (geez, there's that word again!) its the feeling i get when i speak to God, and when he speaks to me! its saying a blessing before i eat.. i can't explain it, i can't prove it... but i believe He is there!

Hannah i know what you mean we get people that go door to door and tell me I am going to burn in hell because I am not of their faith. It is not the way you dress, or how you look that makes you a Christian it is how you act and what you believe in I do believe if you believe in God no matter what church you belong to you are a Christian. I can go to anyone's church and feel comfortable and pray because I know I am in "God's House" I have been to Jewish funerals, weddings, confirmations, Indian weddings and have helped type up articles for their religious services, I have gone to quite a few different churches and I have always felt that I belonged. I was in the House of God....

Finally!
This is the answer to the question that I was looking for! In my life, I have always felt that what you believe is your truth in regards to religion.. To me, it doesn't matter what why or how your religion is important to you, simply that it is. It is not up to me to decide what is and isn't an appropriate religion. It has never been nor will it ever become, my place to tell people what they should think or feel, especially in regards to something that is so personal. Faith is broad word with so many implications in everyones life. I have faith that the sun will come up in the morning and sink below the horizon in the evening tomorrow. I can measure that faith. I can show proof that it exists for me simply by watching the sun go up and down tomorrow. Faith as a part of religion will always be a personal perspective, irregardless of the ability to prove the existence of a supreme being...
To those who believe - it simply IS!

When i was really little my mom told me to be the stepping stone for people towards being a christian, not the rock they trip and fall over.
That simple statement still stayed in my mind as i tried to go a church here in Concord, i was going to my friends christmas play rehearsal (she thought it would be a good time in a relaxing setting to see if i wanted to start going to her church) anyways, i was sitting in the church for no longer than 5 minutes before i heard the whispers of others talking about a little girls mom... those people became the rocks i stumbled over as i never returned to the church!

I know I'm getting in on this a little late. I've been reading alot lately about physic phenomena. Books by John Edwards, Sylvia Browne, James Van Praagh. They all refer to past lives, aka, reincarnation. Their opinion or rather their belief is that we do come back if we've lived a life that has had an element of real "badness" (for lack of a better word) in it. That person's spirit makes the choice to either go into the Light, or come back for another go at it. Reincarnated souls never come back as anything but humans. Ever. If you're really a horrible evil human and have done incredibly evil things, like Adolph Hitler for example, you do not pass Go, do not collect $200.00 and go directly through the "Left Door" where it's very hot and filled with evil souls. You really have to be evil to go there so we're all safe - lol. Do I believe in reincarnation? After having read all I've read and seen some things regarding the subject on TV, I believe it's possible that we can come back. I definitely believe in the Afterlife and know without a doubt that God exists. Can't prove it - don't have to. If someone doesn't believe in God, nothing I say is going to change their minds. If someone believes that when you die that's it, they'll be pleasantly surprised when they die to find that there's another, more joyfull life waiting for them.
I also believe that there are legitimate physics and that the gift they have is a real thing. I've been to one myself after having lost my brother in a tragic motorcycle accident and she told me things she could not possibly have guessed. She asked me to bring a new, wrapped, audio cassette tape if I wanted a tape of the reading. I did bring one and she unwrapped it, put it in the cassette player and said testing 1 2 3 4 5 about 5 times. She played it back to be sure the tape was working properly and I heard exactly what she had said without any other noises on the tape except for her voice. Had the one hour incredible reading and went home. Let me preface this by saying that because I'm no longer a young person, most of my family members are dead. She said when I walked in that usually when someone comes for a reading they attract maybe one or two "entities" who will be in the room. When I walked in, the room filled up. So, when I played back the tape I got chills. What I heard was what can only be described as ghostly sounds. Not static. It wasn't there when she played back the tape to check it. By the way, she told me she was being shown that one of my daughters would have a baby-it would be a boy-the date would be the 16th. I have 2 daughters - one married one single. The married daughter didn't intend to start a family, and, her husband had some medical things that would make it very difficult for her, if not impossible, to get pregnant. At the time of my reading, my married daughter was one month pregnant. She didn't know and of course we didn't know that she was. Her son, Daniel, was born on May 16th!!
Regarding animals-do they cross over? Yes they do. My first dog who was like my child came through. The physcic described her, including her markings, and told me she's with me all the time. I've had 3 physic things happen to me in my life. If we pay attention - we probably all have had them.
The True Religion is the religion YOU believe in.
