Full Version: Prayers for my friend Nancy
Beryl
Nancy who has given me her should to lean on when Al was diagnosed with cancer and through out the ordeal and still today had to have heart surgery which I had posted on I confess had her surgery and this is part of an e-mail I received from the President of our group. Chuck is Nancy's husband.

I just got off the phone with Chuck. Nancy actually had her surgery this afternoon. She went in yesterday and had some tests done and had a heart catherization. The doctor said the catherization went well and that she had very clean arteries, which was a good sign. The x-rays on the mitral (not sure of the spelling) valve showed that it was a surgery that definitely had to be done.

She went in for surgery around noon and Chuck said the doctor was out by 2:30 and told him the surgery went well. The mitral valve is now functioning normally. Nancy will be in the ICU for the next 24 hours and will probably be in the hospital until Friday. They will probably have her sitting up tomorrow

Nancy and Chuck were being human with the osteo - she said with amputation they only gave her a couple of months. Hopefully the research being done at OSU will find a cure

Hi - We volunteered at Passavant hospital last evening so we hunted up Chuck Shade. He is only allowed in Nancy's room for a while every hour or some such schedule so he had lots of time to hang out in the surgical reception room.

He was quite pleased with Nancy's progress. I guess she is very doped up but they had her up and at em already. Chuck said that the surgeons told him it was a text book surgery and everything went very well.

We hope to go and visit Nancy herself as soon as she is out of the ICU - in a couple days, I suppose.
