Here are a few pictures we got last night of a female hummer. She was hanging around our outside light at 10:00pm and was acting very confused. Both Bob and I did get to hold her until she flew off.

I love these little birds and it was so very exciting to be able to hold one.

Wow! That's the first picture I've ever seen of anyone holding one. I love those birds.

My folks had about 4 humming bird feeders around their house. Just before dark, there would be just a tizzy of birds trying to get food before dark. I think they get afraid & disoriented in the dark.
The other nite at a friend's house, she had a pair of swallows on her front porch...her husband said they're checking the place out to build. He'll let them build & then after nesting, he tears the nest down.

We feed them , last year about 100 this year only 25 , we have one that lands on your finger , never seen one fly after dark.
