I am really not sure my dog is shedding so bad. I know all dogs shed, but his shedding has never been this bad. He eats Eagle Pack Hollistic and I have given him different types of oil in his food. I brush him daily and still he has large clumps of hair falling out everywhere. Thank god for my vaccumm. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Does he have a double coat? My shepherds are blowing their coats right now and they have a double coat. Do you know his mix?

my collie/shep mix did that 2 x year and all we did was keep brushing her and then in the summer we had her clipped

Suzy is the only one of ours that is shedding now. We brush her a lot and she still blows off a lot of her fur.

My huskies would blow their coats at least once a year. HUGE clumps of hair coming out. I'd sit on the deck with the two of them and pull wads of hair off their bodies everyday for two, sometimes three weeks. One of the things that helped the most was taking them swimming. The water really loosens up the dead hair and makes it drop faster. I didn't dare try to bathe them at home - my plumbing never would've survived it

My biggest ones are Jams & Koolaid. We did a good brushing then bathed and then brushed again and its not too bad now. Belle does shed but not as bad as the other two

He is a shepard and cattle dog. I think he does have a double coat. I just called Petco and I am having him shaved on July 2nd, I hope this helps. Unitl then, I hope my vacumm survies this mess. Jackson is my first mutt and I am not used to this because I have only owned all greyhounds. They shed, but not like thisl.

One thing I find that helps is a horse shedding blade, it gets a lot of the undercoat off. I have also heard that the furmanatior works well.

My loves Golden Ret . is blowing his coat and OMG I didn't know a dog could lose so much hair! Thank goodness he is an outside dog.

Curry comb works great on him.
