Ok,

I can't figure my new greyhound out, but I have come to the conclusion that he has separation anxiety. He carries on for about 15 minutes after we leave and then quites down. He sometimes soils his crate. I am not sure why some days he does this and other days he does not. His crate is proper fitting and does not have too much room. I took the towels out and I give him treats everyday before I leave. He is only peeing in his crate. He is left alone for 7 hours while I am at work. Again this is not an everyday occurance, but I am not sure why he does it sporadically. He does not have a UTI. I know that because the vet said he does not. So, I am not quite sure? It is no deal breaker, but I wish I knew what else I could do. I do not want to medicate him. He goes on a mile walk in the morning before I leave for work. He gets about 2 to 3 miles of exercise a day. Any suggestions?
