I saw this topic on another board and thought I would see what the response would be here. So here goes.

What is the best thing about greyhound adoption to me?

By far the unconditional love is the greytest gift that my Tyson gives me. It is different with Ty then with our Lab (gotten as a puppy). I don't think words can describe the changes Ty has initiated in me. The true understanding of why they are "man's best friend". Ty has sent me down a road I would never have thought I would travel (even when I first adopted him). I love my Lab to death but Ty is MY heart dog.

Watching a pup learn the world and blossoming, the unconditional love They are soo sweet and gentle, they make my heart swell with love...when I found the world of greyhounds they completed me...I knew there was something out there for me....something more....something I NEEDED to do to make a difference....when I fell in love with my first grey, I found where I belong.....

Never really heard of greyhounds before we saw an adoption group at a local event. Fell in love with the greyhound. When we adopted our first greyhound Zeus, he opened our eyes to greyhounds. All the greyhound events, people, message boards, all the greyhounds we met.
Also, seeing a greyhound grow up from puppy hood to adult hood. When we got Lincoln, our first puppy, we learned alot and we were amazed at how they learn and grow.

We also learned alot from the racing industry. We belong to the FTH program and have watched our Paisley grow from a puppy, training and now her racing career and eventually to our couch when her career is over. We have learned so much about the racing industry and it's amazing how it all works.

I could never be without a greyhound in my life. I just love them.

Being in the position to help a living creature, nuture, love and care for with no expectation of anything in return. To find out that the love and care you give is returned 10 fold with no conditions attached. What more could anyone ask for in this life but to be loved unconditionally and with such boundless enthusiasm as that given by a greyhound.
