ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (UPI) -- Police in Englewood, N.J., said they arrested a man who phoned 911 and reported a robbery after a gas station clerk refused to give him a refund for condoms.
Officers arrested Kadien Jackson, 21, after he told police he made the false robbery report to help him get a refund for an unused box of condoms at the Route 4 gas station, The Bergen-Hackensack (N.J.) Record reported.
Jackson was charged with making a false report and could face jail time if convicted.
"We take something like that very seriously because of the danger it poses to the officers responding," said Englewood Police Capt. Steven Sabo. "I don't think a lot of people realize the seriousness of the offense that they're doing."
