Softee aka Softshoesureshot who will be 14 August 2 is sick she has diarrhea and she has been vomiting- called Vet and she is on Flagyl & Lomotil. She was on the same medication last year when we went to Dewey - I am praying that it will have the same results. She is very thin and we had got some weight on her and now she has lost it all. Made her Turkey Breast & Rice and got into her this am some baked scrambled eggs. A neighbor does not eat egg yolks so they give them to us. I whip them up with a can of evaporated milk and a can of water, spray a baking pan and put the egg mixture in it and bake until done. When I make it this way I usually have 12 or more yolks. We then cut them up and freeze. We will used them as treats also after we defrost them. They do not get them all the time.
The diarrhea started yesterday and the Imodium did not help and this morning she threw up everything she ate last night. She has not been acting herself for the last two days and did not do her feed me thing. Started her on the med around noon and will give her more when Dave comes home from work

Sending prayers Softee gets well soon. Have you tried canned pumpkin? It helps our guys when they get the Big D and helps them want to eat.

Softee is doing greyt - still yelling at Dad not getting her breakfast fast enough for her. Is almost back to normal and I hope my eyes are not playing tricks but it looks as if she has put a little weight back on. Still feeding her about 4 meals/day and I still giving her the rice mix. Got to get her better for Dewey

My mind is at ease now with her. They are so fragile at this age. She was always a small girl and one of my vets said he did not realize that they raced them that small. Just got done feeding her and the rest of my pack and she ate up a storm. Did not realize her medication was hidden in her food.

Still doing greyt - Still getting 4 meals/day her two main ones are breakfast & dinner we give her puppy food along with her rice & egg for both of those meals. Her other ones are usually rice (she loves rice and pasta), egg & a little bit of dry food and a scosh of water . We also zap the rice and eggs for all meals. She is bounding around and stands either in the doorway or kitchen telling her dad to hurry when he is preparing their meals.

She is doing much better now over the big D and celebrated her 14 th birthday August 2 (data) and August 3 (Registration). She is being very finicky with her food now and we are catering to her. Have more food in the fridge for the fur kids than for our selves...

Yes much better and at times acts like a puppy. Loves to eat dirt so we have to keep after her.
