Full Version: Maryland Man Rescued After Jumping From Cruise Shi
Patricia
A Maryland man was rescued Monday from the ocean near Florida after he jumped from a cruise ship while apparently drunk, officials said. The Carnival Liberty alerted the Coast Guard about 11:35 p.m. Sunday that Scott Durrin,29, of Rockville had possibly jumped overboard. Durrin and three friends had been drinking when he tried to get into a lifeboat, an F.B.I official said. "He took an ax and was struggling to cut the ropes, " she said. Liberty crew members threw life rings and jackets over the side, and Coast Guard crews located located Durrin about an hour later. Of course, he is from Maryland, people here in Maryland are not that bright, what a stupid jerk. emo-th_headbangwall.gif mad.gif emo-th_soapbox.gif

Happy Birthday America!!!

This story is exactly why I am so thankful to live in the US. Here we are, fat and happy, commenting on some brain surgeon jumping off a cruise ship BECAUSE WE CAN. We're not fighting for survival, we're not worried about where our next meal is coming from, we're not worried that anything truly horrific is going to happen to us. We can sit here and follow the travails of participants in reality tv shows, or deplore the actions of Paris Hilton, and pretty much waste as much time as we'd like on trivial cr@p because we live in a country that's wealthy and is filled with people who, regardless of what the media spins, really do value each other.

God Bless America!
