hi to all -- well a trip back to the vet and the antibiotics did O.K. but it still is painful cause she still won't put her foot all the way down soooooo -- next tues we are taking off her toe to the p-3 bone and i agree with my vet because of the three choices -- fungus, cancer or osteomylitis -- it could come back again and again and like i said this is the third or fourth time already but i am so very worried about the anesteshia like the rest of you guys but this has to be done and now our little peanut won't hurt anymore -- again thanks to all who replied --- hug those hounds

You're doing the right thing. When it's that pervasive, you have to do something. If the vet is "greyhound aware", the anesthesia should be OK.

Anesthesia is always risky, but it's a lot less risky than any of the things that could be going wrong with that toe. And it's got to be hurting, so she'll start to feel better almost immediately.
You're absolutely doing the right thing!

I am so glad to hear that CeCe is on the mend ... now does mom get a day at the spa to relax and recover? I hope all continues to go well.
