Full Version: This Week In History.
Patricia
Sorry, I'm late in posting. Just got back from the beach, so here are some of the events that happened this week in history July 8- 14:

7/8/1776 - The Liberty Bell rings out over Philadelphia to summon citizens for a reading of the Declaration of Independence.

7/9/1877 - The Wimbledon Tournament begins when 21 amateurs compete in the first Gentleman's Singles Tournament.

7/10/1925 - The Scopes "Monkey Trial" begins in Dayton, Tenn., when young teacher Thomas Scopes tries to teach evolution in the classroom.

7/13/1985 - Live Aid, a worldwide rock concert to raise relief for impoverished Africa, begins.

7/14/1789 - Frenchmen angry with the monarchy storm the Bastille, starting the French Revolution.

Thanks for reading .
