Why is Metal music so often stereotyped as bad or even satanic music by religious groups?
I want to have a plausible answer for this since I like some heavy metal music.
I came upon this question watching a few documentaries about the history of metal which in my opinion didn't give a plausible answer.
They kept connecting it to "reverse messages" which I think is just co-incidental load of poo.
Full Version: Stereotyping music
Yeah, it's poo. But there are some reverse messages in music, put there intentionally by the muscisions. If you play the 45 (man, have I just dated myself, or what?) of Another One Bites the Dust backwards, it says It's Fun to Smoke Marijuana. It's pretty funny.
I'm not religious by any means, so I can't really help there. Very interesting, though, that some groups view heavy metal music as being satanic. Believe it or not, I've never even heard of that!

Most black metal bands will claim allegiance to satan....
On another note, heres an interesting story on the Backmasking (playing stuff backwards)

Very interesting. I'm not and never was into heavy mental bands. I like dance music and of course Elvis, my favorite A little less conversation, a little more action.
I think it may have something to do with the lifestyle they promote (Sex, drugs and rock and roll) more then the music itself. JMHO.

hmmm i like sex.... drugs... .and rock and roll.... but im indifferent on the whole satan thing.... perhaps im just lost?
