Not alot going on here. They're having a candlelight vigil at the Memphis Animal Shelter...but I'm not going. I'd be one big mush...I cry just thinking about that puppy that died. She wasn't even there 2 weeks & they starved her to death. Pathetic.
Anyway...me & some of my friends are going to On the Border, its a Mexican resteraunt...I've already taken some Tums & I think I'll drink a glass of milk on the way there. I don't know why I put myself through stuff like this.

Beautiful day today. Haven't been on for a bit, was babysitting 10 month old grandson, his mom and dad were in Key West.

Another cold day and the wind, awful. I feeling horrible, I have chills which started last night, I just could not get warm and thats with three cats on me, plus every bone, joint in body aches, and I feel sick to my stomach, the thought of food makes me want to vomit and I can't forget about this headache. Time to just rest. Oh how I hate the cold weather.

November and checking in. Just to let you all know we had another seizure free night with EZ. Those seizure are so scarey

The mexican place was just okay. I've had better. The company was...well lets just say effected by the full moon. he he he I was ready to get home to my poopsters. They're so funny, they did night zoomies when I got home last night & it was hilarious. The only one I could see was Pipi...even Jack (yeller) didn't show up in the dark.

I hope you are feeling better real soon Patricia, sounds like you got it pretty bad. So far I have dodged the bullet with the flu, I hope it stays that way

Beryl that is great about the seizures. I forgot, is he on both Phenobarbital & Potassium Bromide? Halo stopped having them with both. Gabby is only on the phenobarbital & sometimes I find them in her crate where she spits them out.

EZ is only on Phenobarbital 2 grains 2 x day. I put them in cream cheese along with his thyroid pill. Two weeks today seizure free

Gabby is on 400 mg of phenobarbital. 200 in the morning, 200 at night in her dogfood.
I forgot how much potassium bromide Halo was on. I still have about a 1/2 bottle left.

EZ is on 2 grains of phenobarbital at 7:30 am and 2 grains at 7:30 pm give of take a few minutes. He is also on thyroid medication at the same time.

Yesterday was 1 year since our Sean has had a seizure, he joined our family Oct. of last year. He was a bounce at 10 years old, he turned 11 this past Oct.17th. He started having seizures the day I brought him home, it seems his seizures were never address, poor guy, he was put on phenobarb. We are so happy for him, 1 YEAR AND SEISURE FREE

EZ was also a bounce - story was that they could not handle an alzheimer patient and EZ who was having seizures. He was adopted August of 2008 and was seizure controlled until about 8 weeks ago and then had 3 in six weeks. We are now on a routine of phenobarbital every 12 hours up to 2 grains 2 x day and his thyroid was checked out and is now on thyroid meds every 12 hours. When he was adopted was told to put his phenobarbital in his food which was done so I have a feeling everything caught up to him. Hope this new regime will control his seizures

He is quite a character and loves carrots and will walk around the house with a whole one until he is ready to eat it..

So everyone has been sick, even the grandkids, I thought maybe I had dodged the bullet and would not get sick, NOT!!!!!!!!!! I guess it is my turn now, I feel like
crap and I am going to bed, night all

Just got home from church dinner nite. We had 3 different kinds of pizza, a salad & some dessert. Then we played charades. MY team won w/over 300 points. All the pups are napping now, so I'm fixing to go crawl in bed. Wanted to come by & say hi to everyone. Snuggle with your pups!!!

Thanks everyone, I'm feeling a little better, but, with this awful weather we are having rain, wind and its soo cold and having to take Misty out for her walks, I hope I don't get worse, I am prone to pnuemonia.

Patricia, that's what worries me about you being so sick, then getting outside in the cold, rain & wind. You're wrapping up real good right! Keeping warm, eating right & getting lots of rest. I used to think stuff like that was just ole wives tales, then when I had knee replacement, I was amazed at how much rest was good! I'd see such an improvement the next day!!! So get lots of rest, even if its just laying on the bed watching tv. Drink plenty of fluids...they say green tea is really good for you when you're sick.
Don't make me have to come up there lil girl!

My EZ is still seizure free and I hope he stays that way. He loves the cream cheese and I did get a large tub from Cosco so there is enough for the both of us He is still begging for his carrots and of caries them around until he finds that proper place to eat it...

EZ is no longer seizure free he just had another one at 8:45 pm in the living room. He ended up under the sewing maching and almost pulled it over. I have to check his legs as soon as he calms down and see if he did any damage...

Will have to call his neuro doctor tomorrow and see what he wants to do.

Rain and wind, oh how I miss summer. I heard this winter is suppose to be horrible, well, lets get it over with. I'm feeling better today.

EZ admitted to the hospital - he had a total of 3 seizures in a 7 hour period. 8:45 pm, 12:48 am and 3:49 am. Vet will be putting him on PB but right now will give abother does of pheno, is putting an IV in and hope to have him home tomorrow

Called the hospital he is doing well and if no seizures or complications between now and tomorrow he can come home. She said he has a disgusted look on his face. Poor boy don't know what is going on and why he has boo boos. He scraped up his legs on the first seizure and scraped the side of his face on the second one...

Just walked in the door with EZ and is doing greyt to see neuro vet in 3 weeks and call if any more seizures on PB will put on bread

Oh how I hate having a cold. Simon had seven teeth taken out, he is a little sore, but, hopefully his dental problems have disappeared, along with his gum disease. He is eating wet food very slowly, but, he is eating. Poor fellow.

Got to sleep in my bed last night but EZ tried to hog it all night long. Went to work today and everything was fine. I kind of epi proofed the living room by putting keepers in front of furniture that he would get under if he was in seizure. Am getting ready to feed the pups now

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week! Wow.

Thanksgiving and we are having early Fall weather here which is above the average highs and lows. Rain later tonight maybe.

Hey all.

When I first put Halo on Potassium Bromide (KBr) and the Phenobarbital (pb) he was sleepy...kinda of groggy & dragged his feet. Gabby is on phenobarbital & she shuffles her feet. Unfortunately in older dogs, like older than say 8...its a sign of brain tumor when they start having seizures. We think Halo had a brain tumor & that's why he continued to have them all day long, even under heavy sedation. He dragged his hind feet really bad, was disoriented & wouldn't eat. Was throwing up also.
EZ doesn't have any of these symptoms. I think the dosage of KBr & PB will help him a lot. Keep us posted.

Simon is healing very nicely and he gained 1/2 pound!! He sure loves the wet cat food.

Glad to hear Simon is on the mend.

We had great weather Thursday & Friday, finally the rain went away. Its still cool outside. Enuff that I run the heat during the night. I open the blinds & let the sun in during the day & that keeps the house warm.
I noticed alot of people already have their Christmas lights on outside. I put my little snow man on my desk the other day. My cousin made him about 5 yrs ago before my mom died.
I am determined to have a great Christmas this year. Last year totally sucked....no wet laminent floors for me this year!
Plus hopefully Smiley will be here by then. He goes next Tuesday for his re-check. If it comes back negative, they'll wait a week or so & then have his alterations. So maybe he'll be home for Christmas. His 5th birthday is the 28th of November.

Time to go Christmas shopping on the computer. Love looking at the different gift sights and just buying gifts. But, what I really love is not having to deal with looking for a parking place, the crowds and the long lines. I love just having my packages delivered to my front door.

Oh this cracked me up! Shopping on line. Actually I don't have to do any shopping this year! My sisters and I decided last year since I fell, that we weren't going to exchange gifts. We'd buy for Aidan, my little 6 yr old nephew & that was it. So that's the only shopping I have to do this year too. Cynde sent an email to everyone & said lets don't exchange gifts. Money is tight for everyone. I said that sounds great too. I can give everyone a card & not go broke.
Yes!!! Smiley went yesterday & got blood drawn & Holly said the results should be back today. I'll keep ya'll posted.

We are laying around watching NCIS and relaxing. Got a note about Smiley, they're re-testing on Friday to make sure they're getting a negative. He must have a really really bad case of the heartworms.

Hey, Smiley tested positive again, so they're putting together a new game plan. They said they'd let me know what's next. I'm sure its just going to be another dose.
In the meantime today is his 5th birthday! He'll spend it with a cake, and with his foster family. Who he will spend Christmas with also.
Maybe I'll get him in time for my birthday in February.

It sure is cold and windy outside.

Yes it is and I am LOVING it This will be our boy Henry's first Christmas with us, he joined our family the end of June. We put our tree up and he could not keep his needlenose out of it I caught him upstairs eating a candycane he took off the tree My other 2 boys never bother the tree, we have to keep an eye on Henry, it's like having a toddler again.

Someone I know with nosey greyhounds, put bells on the bottom part of her tree so she could tell when someone was getting nosey.
I never had ornament damage, but Pegasus would hike his leg on every tree I ever set up. I don't know how many times I would come home with a tree turned over.

It was so nice today, sunny and warm, but, I know it won't last. Rain on the way for tomorrow, oh goodie, goodie , I can't wait, NOT!!

We have some rain now and of course foot prints all over my clean floors. Oh well that is what they make mops for. Can't wait until I get my cement work done maybe not as much dirt tracked into the house.

I put crib rails up around my tree when I put one up but then I have to watch those long noses that sometimes reach over the rails. I should make greyhound proof ornaments to put on the treee

Thank goodness the snow ended and the lovely sun is out. I hate snow and ice, last night the snow must have changed over to sleet, because there is ice on top of the snow. This morning when I took Misty out for her second walk, and believe me we were very careful, but, she hit a slick spot on the side walk and fell on her left side and then I almost fell. She is fine, and we made it home. Oh I hope this is not a sign of what is to come, it is so dangerous. I hope Spring comes in a hurry, and I'll take rain any time.
