Full Version: Should the US remain in Iraq?
dad2paisley
The US government should stick to their plan. They got rid of the dictatorship. Now all they have to do is ensure peace in the surrounding regions.

Slowly withdrawing would be a smart idea. Bring it up in a UN summit and then let the rest of the world take care of the mess. It's inevitable that he had to be removed. It's just sad that it had to be America to act upon it. So now it seems it's our fault and we are the real bully.
What do you all think?
Patricia
I say we have no choice. We have to stay. If we pull out now, it would make things a 100% worse and give the impression that we are weak and an open invitation to attack us.

I never was comfortable about the WMDs and the other "reasons" for invading a country that never attacked us. As Colin Powell once said, "You break it, you own it". Well, here we are fighting an illegitimate war in an illegitimate country whose borders were carved across tribal lines by the British. Here we are with an incompetent administration making mistake after mistake including the original planning which ignored years of planning by the Pentagon including
post-occupation. I was against it from the beginning and I'm really against it now. Bring them home ASAP. dry.gif

Where are all our so called allies we helped them in their time of need do you see them doing anything to help get this bloody war over and bring our military home to their loved ones. Wait and see those countries that should of been helping us and who are not there are going to knock on the door asking for help and the dumb Americans are going to dole out money and aid to them again. If they need this help let them work for it send some of their troops over there to show a solid front.

Sorry but I did go through WWII as a child and do remember some of what went on over there in the UK

Sounds kinda like Viet Nam doesn't it???? I grew up military. My father helped liberate some of the concentration camps and was also based out of the UK. My ex did "several" tours incountry on the rivers in Viet Nam. My daughter served proudly as did my son in law. I am not anti military nor am I antiwar. What I am is anti stupid lying stealing manipulating government full of theives (the politicians and their lobbiest that are nothing more than hookers and pimps){ with apologies to Gustopher P Jones.} I love my country but fear our government. But what is even scarier is that the good people of this country let them get away with it......Think about it the next time you have to shell out $50.00 to fill your gas tank. Or watch your tax dollars flushed down the toilet (read - politicians pocket). Rant Over.....
