Have we become desensitized by television (or videogames or movies)? Do you think children are becoming more violent because of what they are watching?
-----------
I always hear people going on how violent games and shows should be banned because of the violence it teaches children. However I do not believe that television is the cause of such problems. I know that children love to mimick what they see if they were watching, say Powerrangers. They might play outside with friends and pretend to fight each other with karate. But that can hardly be classified as violence.
And as for the child that plays Grand Theft Auto and goes on a killing spree, I highly doubt that was CAUSED by the videogame. Something must be pyschologically wrong with the child to incur him to do such a thing. And that unstable violent quality is most likely WHY he bought the game in the first place.
