Is this a wrong thing? I've seen many women breast freed in public and they are very careful about it. It does not offend me. It is very natural and isn't that what they are for?

not wrong at all, but if you whip it out in public, be prepared for people to look.
so here is a sub-debate.... if you are breastfeeding in public, do you want people to avert their eyes at all costs?
small story - i was with my significant other at a doc's office, as I survey the room, as i do quite constantly, i notice the girl in front of me popping one out and letting her baby at it. She looked up as I was continuing my surveying sweep, and happened to be looking right at me (still?) as i swept back, and she damn near jumped down my throat. Now I'll be the first to admit that I love breasts, and i dont mind taking a gander at one if a baby is getting some lunch, but in this case, I was not, mostly cuz I didnt want the one sitting next to me catching me taking a glance.... lol..... at any rate, I replied back to her something to the effect of, "If you dont want me to look, then dont whip it out in front of me!" even though, looking directly at her was not my intention at that point in time.

I agree with you PhL0aTeR. If they want to do it in public be prepared for staring.
At my work, a women did this right in front of me. Heck, I looked but she was only a few feet away.
I don't think they should do this in public but I guess if you gotta do it you gotta do it but don't get us the onlookers cases.

Don't have a problem with women breast feeding in public, but they can be discreet about it. My sister and my sisters-in-law all breast fed, and it never seemed to be any big drama for them to throw a light blanket or diaper across their front when they were with other folks while feeding the babes.

Well folks, if I want to look at boobs, I'll check out my own. If a mother HAS to breast feed in public then she should be discreet and cover up. If she does whip it out for all the world to see then she should shut her mouth if somebody is watching. If she doesn't want people watching, there's always a ladies room nearby.

Breast feed all you want in public but do it in such a way that you are not exposing yourself. As Missy & Duke's mom said if I want to see breasts I can look at my own I do not need to look at the mom who is breast feeding and has no shame. Most of the women I have witnessed breast feeding do it discretely and do cover up.

Definitely cover that stuff up! I remember when my son was a baby and I had to feed him. If I were away from home, I would just sit in the car with a blanket over my son and my boob. In Washington State at that time of year, the car would not heat up. Mostly, though, I would feed him before we left the house and we wouldn't stay out for very long.
I really don't mind if women breastfeed in public. I think that girl that got upset at the doctor's office just liked the attention. I mean, if someone staring at me made me uncomfortable, I would just get up and go to the restroom. People stare or at least look at things that are usually covered up. If I saw some dude streaking down my street, I would probably look.

I can't say that I would stand outside and stare at him, but I'm sure I would take a gander (most likely in disbelief).
