Pretty interesting piece...

Living in Alaska, I believe Gun Control's all about groupings, but I'm sure there are some other views out there. What do you think?

Very interesting.

Those who quote statistics about gun crimes in the US compared to places like Canada have to remember the city of New York alone has almost more people than our entire country. Criminals will always seek out those they see as weaker if they know a person is armed they we find someone else. My grandfather (who lived through a German invasion in Belgium) always said "a locked door only keeps an honest man out so you better be willing to defend your door and all that dwells behind it".
I guess I just feel the same way. I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 should I have to defend myself.

Everything that was talked about by the pro-gun people, we learned in our handgun safety class. I would agree that people who know that you may potentially be carrying a weapon will leave you alone. In Colorado, it's safe to assume that everyone carries a weapon (even if most do not). You don't know who has a gun and who doesn't. People who are intent on harming others will most likely find their victims where guns are prohibited. When weapons are involved in your life, you must be safe and smart. biggrin.gif

Remember its not the gun that kills, its the person firing the gun.

Just like your vehicle, its the driver.

We should be able to have a gun but get the guns out of the criminals hands.

Baltimore City has a program that the city will pay you $200.00 dollars for every gun you turn in. Gee, it really works we are up to 196 murders so far this year, by the end of August we will be over 200. Great program, right. tongue.gif
