Full Version: Chris Jones.

Should Chris Jones be held responsible for the death of the four people killed in the heilcopter accident? Do you think it was pilot error? Same question, if two police cars crash at an intersection while responding to the same call, say, a robbery, and all officers are killed, should the robber be charged with the death of the officers?

i havent followed the story enough to know who chris jones is, but i assume by your 2nd analogy that he was the criminal the choppers were filming?

In that case, No. IMHO the criminal is responsible for crimes he has committed, not the accidents resulted from trying to take him down, eg the 2 cop car analogy. those 2 police officers are tasked with gaining control of the criminal while following all traffic laws (more safety than anything in this case) and should be held liable if they get into an accident. A case like that, just sounds like someone trying to put the blame on someone already going down.

Now in the case of the choppers, there should be a pilot whose sole job it is, to pilot that aircraft. He should not be looking where the action is, or doing anything other than trying to keep that bird safely in the sky.

I say No. He didn't know that the 2 helicopters where going to crash. But the lawyers could always add them to his charges and see what the judge will do.

I agree, it is not Chris Jones's fault with thoses choppers crashing. It was pilot error. The pilot is responsible for his craft and his surroundings.
