My trainer just phoned me and had to cancel our session today because Marco, her 7 year old doberman is very sick. She told me that yesterday he started vomiting, had diarrehea, and was totally out of it. They, she and Tim rushed Marco over to the vets. The diarrehea stopped, he is on IV fluids, and antibotics. The vet said he may have pancreitis, but they know more later. Marco is such a good dog, he is her baby. Please send good thoughts and prayers her way. Thanks.

She doesn't understand how this could happen. He has never been sick a day in his life and now this. I'm wondering if it could be his diet, a high fatty diet can cause pancreatitis in a dog. And no she does not feed him or Ace Castelberry food.

I saw Ty today and she told me that Marco came home last evening. He does have pancreatits, the vet told her that he probably got it from eating treated, or eating fecal from another dog. He is back to being his old self and is happy to be home. He is still on antibotics.

Whew! That's awesome news! Tovi, our IG, had a sort of scare with pancreatitis a few months ago. It turned out that while she didn't have any symptoms, her food (Innova Evo) was messing up her pancreas. She was also on potassium supplements for awhile. We switched her food to Flint River Ranch and she's been doing great!
