used to
it's very hard work and very expensive. It's not a job, it's a lifestyle. The dogs always eat before your family and see the vet before your kids go to the doctor. There's no sick days or holidays. You show up no matter what. I've driven in snowstorms to get to the kennel and slept there when snowed in. It's the hardest and the most enjoyable job I've ever had. I still agree with racing, but there is so much that needs to change for it to survive. I hope that happens before it's too late.

I do!
I've been involved with racing for about 10 years. I first worked in The greyhoundracing department befor as I call It Jumped the fence and went to work in the kennels. I went from Kennel helper to trainer. Big difference in those 2 titles. It is hard work. But it is very addictive. These wonderful dogs have got me thru some tough times. It seems like they know when you need them to smile or act silly. Morning singing always gets me. I alway clap and tell them good song. At night I don't leave without telling them " Nighty nite love ya bunchs, dream of bunnies." Then when I get home I have 10 more that are very happy to see me. Like she said its not a job, it's a lifesyle. That's why they call us Dog People.
