Johnny Depp is finally opening up about the the scare he had due to his young daughter's illness, claiming that time was a "great scare" for his whole family.

The handsome actors seven-year-old daughter Lily-Rose had been rushed to a London hospital after contracting E.coli bacteria which had then caused her kidneys to shut down.

Johnny was filming his current movie Sweeny Todd at the time and had to stop so he could be by her side along with his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis.

However, Lily fortunately pulled through and Johnny revealed she is back to her old self.

He said; "It gave us a great scare. What got us through this wasn't the strength of Vanessa or me but our daughter and her incredible ability to make us feel OK even though she was very unwell. She was super-strong.

It was a very bumpy patch but she has come through it beautifully and unscathed and she is now as healthy as she always was. She is wonderful.

It was a reminder to us of how to breathe, walk, talk, think and surround ourselves with people we love."

Meanwhile, new reports are claiming Johnny and Vanessa are preapring to walk down the aisle this summer (07).

A source was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying; "Johnny and Vanessa have one of the strongest relationships in Hollywood but after their daughter was taken ill the family became an even closer-knit unit.

They have talked about marriage on and off for a long time but the recent emotional roller-coaster they have had to endure seems to have spurred them into action."
